ANSWER TO THE POINT
Veer Singh was the Commander-in-Chief of the Magadh army. He was very competent and had won many a battle for his king. When he became old, he requested the king to relieve him.
The king conceded his request and said, ” I would like to appoint Samar Singh in your place. What’s your opinion about him?”
Veer Singh replied, ” Your Majesty! He’s a deserving candidate, in my opinion.”The Chief Minister, who was present, said, ” Don’t you know, Veer Singh, that Samar Singh doesn’t have a good opinion about you ?”
Veer Singh smiled and turned to the Chief Minister, saying, ” Pardon me, Sir! The king had asked my opinion about Samar Singh , and not Samar Singh’s opinion about me !”
