Masala Vada

Channa dal 1 cup
Turdal 1 tbsp
Rice 1/2 tsp
Onion chopped 1
Red chillies 3
Mint leaves chopped 2 tbsp
Curry leaves few
Aniseeds(saunf)ground 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
Oil For frying
Salt To taste
Soak channa dal, rice and tur dal for 2 hours. Drain water. Add dry red chillies, salt and asafoetida and grind coarsely without adding water.
Add salt, chopped onion, mint leaves, curry leaves, aniseeds and mix thoroughly.
Heat oil in a fry pan. Make small balls with the dal and press with your palm and deep fry
in the oil till they are crisp.
